Rare catalog published three years after the founding in 1980 of the Totem studio in Lyon. The Group was then made up of Jacques Bonnot, Frédérick du Chayla, Vincent Lemarchands and Claire Olivè who met in 1979.
The agency made a name for itself in the visual arts world, imbued with the aesthetics of Pop art, comics, science fiction and post-modern architecture. In seven years of collaboration, the collective has produced around a hundred pieces of furniture and objects, most of which are produced in around thirty copies.
This catalog reviews their first works and the philosophy that drives the Totem studio. A rare testimony to the beginnings of one of the most representative collectives of French design in the 80s.
