Rare issue of the magazine of the American community in Paris. On the cover of this issue: Charles Bukowski. “How America’s Dirtiest Old Man Became France’s Latest Poet Laureate”. This issue was released a few days after the broadcast of Bernard Pivot’s Apostrophe program. Charles Bukowski had been invited there and completely drunk, had made delusional comments. Little known in the United States, Bukowski met with a success of esteem in France thanks in particular to the translations of his works at Speed 17 (literary collection of Humanoïdes Associés directed by Philippe Manoeuvre) and the Editions du Sagittaire. Notes of A Dirty Old Man had been translated there in 1977 and was a real hit in bookstores.
