Small anarchist-inspired brochure devoted to the riots in the Brixton district in April 1981 (April 10-12). Following abusive police checks, racism and following an arrest, the community of Brixton (mainly populated by immigrants from the Caribbean) revolted against the London police. 56 police cars were burned, 82 demonstrators were arrested and nearly 400 were injured. These riots were the symbol of social and economic tensions in Margaret Tatcher’s England. “After years of street crimes and brutality, and despite the infiltration from outside of thousands of paid provocateurs, the Brixton police have finally been taught a short, sharp lesson by the local community…”. Very interesting brochure which reviews the events and puts into perspective the failures of the repression and also of the Labor party.
