First issue of this bi-monthly founded by Shepard Fairey in 2004 and whose publication ceased in 2009. Fairly eclectic, Swindle left a large place for Street Art and its main representatives of the 2000s (Banksy, Invader, Miss Van, Fail…) while devoting reports and covers to personalities from musical circles: Debbie Harry, Grandmaster Flash, Philippe Starck, Henry Rollins, Eazy E, Billy Idol… Swindle was one of the most popular magazines of the 2000s for its very neat layout and graphics. On the cover of this first issue, we find a portrait of one of the pioneers of Hip-Hop: Grandmaster Flash. Portrait drawn by Shepard Fairey.
