NME issue featuring on the cover the New York hip hop group RUN DMC, pioneer of the hardcore movement. On that date, RUN DMC had just released the second album “King of Rock”: “I’m the king of Rock, there is none higher / Sucker MC’s should call me sire”. The album was produced by Russel Simmons. The NME issue devotes two pages to interviews with the group.
