At the beginning of the 90s, in France, rap began to be taken seriously. Here is a little-known book in which the authors first explain the origins of the movement, its language with in particular a text by M.C. Solaar. Then, the book presents a gallery of groups from the North of France (Lille, Douai, Maubeuge…) : MC associés, A. Free K., Dinamik Toaster, MC New LC… all accompanied by texts by their songs. At the end, we find a series of photographs on the Breakdancers. A whole era.
