Punk is a fanzine founded in 1975 by cartoonist John Holmstrom, publisher Ged Dunn and journalist Legs McNeil. It is the first publication to have popularized the CBGB music scene and, above all, its use of the term “punk rock”, coined by collaborators of Creem magazine a few years earlier, led to the generalization of the expression in world level to qualify all new groups producing music inspired by the Stooges, New York Dolls, MC5 and Ramones. For this issue 3 of April 1976, we find The Ramones on the cover. Contents : Leather, David Johansen, an interview with Richard Crumb, the Ramones, director Samuel Fuller, Heartbreakers (interview with Richard Hell) … an essential punk fanzine and a fantastic graphic layout.
