The great American photographer Susan Meiselas returns with this book on her first photographic archives. They are dedicated to a group of young girls from Little Italy in New York. Their names are Lisa, Jojo, Dee, Pina, Carol and Frankie. They hang out in their neighborhood on Prince Street. In 1975/1976, Susan Meiselas, who cycled there every morning, met these Italian-Americans and their friends. They decide to take pictures. This book published at the time of an exhibition dedicated to the photographer at the Hug gallery in Paris (in November 2013) is quite simply a gem. From the photographs emerges a snapshot of this fantasized New York of the 70s and an indescribable youthful poetry mixing boredom, group spirit, young femininity, laughter. It is a book of great beauty, which in addition is handcrafted and whose layout particularly highlights the work of Meiselas.
