Less known than The East Village Scene or the Berkeley Barb, less committed to a radical left like The Black Panther or New Left Notes, Other Scene undoubtedly deserves the title of the most creative and experimental underground newspaper of the late 1960s. newspaper was very influenced by the Fluxus and Mail-Art movements as well as Andy Warhol’s avant-pop aesthetic (Wilcock was a regular Factory denizen). This paper operated as much as a virtual underground club for its subscribers as it did a vehicle for news distribution.
