Very rare first edition of 1981 (reissued in limited edition in 1995) of this book dedicated to the New York Dolls, and the first historical biography of the group. Written by Smith singer Steven Morrissey, this book is very hard to find today. Steven Morrissey was the president of the English Dolls fan club at the end of the 1970s. In this book, Morrissey retraces the history of the group, its identity, its specificity, its state of mind. The book is produced with texts by Morrissey but also press clippings, all illustrated with numerous photographs. Which makes it look more like a fanzine than a classic book. The edition of this book would have according to a certain legend was limited to 500 copies (perhaps less).
