“Jeans, in the 1950s, were for the younger generation the sartorial language through which a certain form of rejection was expressed, the sign of the vigilance of minorities in the face of the establishment. Their wearing then became an astonishing phenomenon of mass reaching indifferently young and old, rich and poor, boys and girls. It is the desire to personalize and singularize what was likely to become a uniform which then led the young people to create a real new popular art. A selection of the works presented appears in this album… “. Very nice book.
