Very interesting book on the third edition of the Isle of Wight festival which took place over three days: August 28, 29 and 30, 1970. This edition had gathered nearly 600,000 spectators and is historically considered to be the last gathering of scale of the hippie movement. On stage during this festival paraded: The Doors (one of their last appearance), Miles Davis, the Who, Jimi Hendrix, Emerson, Lake Palmer… A festival that marked an entire generation and which seems to close the enchanted parenthesis of 1960s. The book retraces in photographs the atmosphere both on stage and in the crowd.
