Number of the New Musical Express which dedicates the Dj and pioneer of Hip Hop: Grandmaster Flash. The native of the Bronx, accompanied by his group the Furious Five, had released in 1982 the single The Message (July 1, 1982, Sugar Hill Records). A true global success, this track is a milestone in the history of Hip-Hop. He is considered to be the first socially engaged rap track to achieve success. However, Grandmaster Flash will not have participated in the development of the title that goes to musician Ed Duke Bootee Fletcher and Melle Mel.
