Rare catalog of the exhibition organized in 1981 by The New Museum (on 5th Avenue in Manhattan) and featuring the Fashion Moda gallery based in the Bronx and the cultural space Taller Boricua (founded in 1969, responsible for promoting artists of the Puerto Rican community. It was on Lexington Avenue). In this catalog we find the emergence of a new urban art with graffiti artists such as the pioneer John Fekner, Futura 2000, Lee Quinones, Lady Pink, all illustrated by a work. We also find in the list of artists exhibited : Charlie and John Ahearn, Crash, Rammellzee and Keith Haring. Rare testimony to the first institutional steps of a dynamic art, anchored in the city and still decried at the time.
