Book published as part of the exhibition of the same name held at the Galerie du Jour (Paris) in April/May 2008, this book is a compilation of photographs and illustrations on the French post-punk generation. The punk wave which only struck French youth for two years (1976/1977) gives way to a sort of new disenchantment (after that of the post-68 period). This results in the emergence of a new music, a new fashion, a state of mind whose champion was Yves Adrien and which he theorized in a certain way in his book NövoVision (1980).

Des Jeunes Gens Mödernes is a true iconographic mine for those interested in these years. We find a whole universe in which the actors are numerous: the Stinky Toys with Jacno and Elli Medeiros, Marie-France, Alain Pacadis, Yves Adrien, Asphalt Jungle with Patrick Eudeline, the Guilty Razors with Tristam, the Bazooka collective, Philippe Morillon, Marquis de Sade, Electric Callas, Taxi Girl, Lio, Etienne Daho, the Rita Mitsouko… and we follow this gradual shift from pure and hard punk to new-wave, from the last Gibus pogos to Banana Split hit.
