Magnificent display for the reopening of the famous Danceteria nightclub. Founded in 1979 by Rudolf Pieper and Jim Fouratt, this place will become one of the centers of New York nightlife in the 80s. It was frequented by Basquiat, Madonna, Run DMC, Sonic Youth, Cindy Lauper, Beastie Boys, LL Cool J, Depeche Mode, Billy Idol, Keith Haring, Andy Warhol… On this poster, a young, still little-known group is invited for the reopening: REM.
