A valuable book for understanding movement, Coming from the Subway then offered in 1992 a general view of graffiti, its evolution, its trends, its main artists (Blade, Crash, Daze, Dondi White, Futura, Keith Haring, Lady Pink, Phase 2, Seen…) and its promoters (Fashion Moda in the Bronx). It is a particularly complete and serious book, a real in-depth study in which the important elements are approached : social and cultural conditions of the emergence of Graffiti, interview with the Mayor of New York Ed Koch, galleries and economic actors, the impact on European youth, critics, collectors, repression…  all complemented by a very rich iconography. An essential book for Graffiti lovers.
