Back in stock. Appearing in the late 1980s in Brooklyn, the Lo-Lifes started out as a street gang made up of die-hard fans and collectors of the Ralph Lauren Sport brand. A bourgeois brand in essence, Ralph Lauren’s sportswear line became one of the symbols of Hip-Hop fashion in the 90s. It is completely taken over by young people from disadvantaged neighborhoods (a similar phenomenon in France with Lacoste). Some of them endlessly accumulate articles, constituting impressive collections. This book is devoted to this culture, one of the best known representatives of which is the New York rapper Thirstin Howl 3rd, who opens his archives here. These are beautifully complemented by the photographs of Tom Gould.
