Beautiful poster for the commemoration of the famous documentary which, along with Wild Style, constitute important milestones in the popularization of hip hop culture. Style Wars is a documentary directed by Tony Silver with the help of Henry Chalfant on the emergence of hip-hop culture in the early 80s in the heart of New York, where the underground subways were the medium of expression of the the art of graffiti artists, their playground, fighting against the authorities who opposed this art by all possible means… We follow them in their perilous expeditions while they testify to their motivations, at the same time , with the propagation by MCs, DJs and breakers of new sounds and movements, we are witnessing the transformation of breakdance battles into complete artistic shows… We find in “Style Wars” the main actors in the birth of urban cultures such as the graffiti artists of the time: Seen, Dondi, Case 2 or Skeme as well as the musician and DJ Grandmaster Flash and many others!
