Very interesting issue of the famous New York underground newspaper with Fidel Castro on the cover during a speech, with a sentence condemning homosexuality in Cuba: “penetration, however slight, is grounds for conviction”. We find a file on the situation of the gay community in Cuba but also the housing problems, Vietnam, Nixon, a double page from Jerry Rubin… a magnificent very graphic issue.

East Village Other was an American bi-monthly founded in 1965. It was the quintessential underground newspaper and had a considerable influence on the other counter-cultural newspapers that came into being. The EVO ceased to appear in 1972.
